Do you guys like crime and drama? Do you like that guy in 50 shades of grey? Do you like sully from x-files? If you answered yes to any of these questions you need to check out “The Fall” now streaming on Netflix and Amazon video. There are now 3 seasons that you can binge watch. Gillian Anderson best known for her work on the x-files plays a detective Stella Gibson from England who moves to Northern Ireland to catch a serial killer.
Can you guess who our serial killer is? None other than Christian Grey himself, who in the movie adaptation of 50 shades of grey seems like a serial killer already, is it just me? Jamie Dornan Plays Paul Spector a grief counselor, also a serial killer. He seems to have a normal life, a wife, a kid except he goes out late at night and murders women. The show is very intriguing and exciting. Each episode ends with you wanting more. Which is why I believe it is an awesome show to binge watch. My wife is responsible for introducing this show to me. I must admit I wasn’t aware of this amazing show until she was on season 2 of course I had to play catch up. The writing in the show is just fantastic, and the cops actually feel like cops which for a show which is about a serial killer is actually inviting. In most shows that involve the police it seems nobody ever follows the protocol of an officer. I would recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of Dexter or Luther(another great British detective show) and anyone into Crime, Dramas like my wife! That’s what I got for now keep streaming, streamers!

So something I've always wanted to talk about are board games and today I thought i would share my thoughts on a certain game that is one of my favourites and one that my friends and I constantly pull out, which is Pandemic. Pandemic is a game which you take a character and try and save the world from four diseases, which are unnamed so that you can put your own creativity, if you are like me, and name them yourself. You could go Realistic like Zika virus or Science Fiction like the Zombie Plague. The character you take on this world curing adventure will always change from game to game because you pick at random. You have unique abilities with each character you choose . An example of this is the medic who can cure a disease with one fowl swoop. The game is a mix of strategy and luck. Wishing for no epidemic cards which has you fill a city with three diseases and if by chance that city gets hit again it would in turn outbreak to surrounding cities which is only one of the ways you can lose at this game. Many times my friends and I have lost to this game in this very way or we would run out of a certain disease which is another way of losing. One of the most intense games we have had was when we had only one more outbreak left and we were on the last cure and by the end of my turn if we had any cities out break that would mean Game Over. Luckily we had the cure on the next turn so my one buddy played an event card which let us skip infection and we ended up winning on the next turn. So we had to look at the next four cards just to see if we would have lost if he hadn't played that card and low and behold Bangkok was the next city about to get hit. It would have had an out break and we would have lost. I have purchased this game a couple of years ago and my friends and I still play it. we can't get enough of it. It is a game we like to play after a crazy battle of Munchkin or Catan. Since it is a Co-Op game we end up getting of each others nerves. There are three expansion games as well which i have yet to purchase but since we all love the game i might just have to do just that. If you have a play group that likes team work based games i suggest picking this one up. Don't forget if you like this Blog I am always looking for feed back and remember to hit that like button and if you have any friends who would be interested in my blog please share. So i recently Threw down 90 dollars Canadian, to buy NHL 17. I have been playing it Non-Stop and boy is my wife mad. A couple of my friends and I have started a team in the new EASHL and for those of you who do not know what that is, it is a Online Mode and you take control of one man on the ice and other players also have one player. You build your team up from a little crappy arena that you would find in a little town. Then you start building your team up by unlocking Logos, Jerseys and even Arenas.
So it was us against the world and boy did we suck. we went on a 10 game losing streak, with our excuse that we never played together and that we would get use to it eventually. So our record was 2-12-1, We were like the leafs of this new mode, we couldn't figure out why we were not scoring. Then this past weekend we finally started playing like a team we put some incredible games under our belts with blow out games 7-2 and 8-1. We were on our way to the next division and then the next. Finally after a long fought weekend we are finally on top of our game and ready for the playoffs. Our record stands at 14-13-3 we haven't lost in awhile. If you are a big hockey guy and you have friends who also enjoy hockey i cannot recommend EA's NHL 17 this year, this game has so many improvements like the new Franchise Mode were you are the owner of a NHL team and you build them up, change ticket prices, trade players, improve your building or relocate your team to one of the many other cities looking for a NHL hockey team. This is the best hockey game we have seen since 2005. Dropping 90 bucks for this game had me squirming but after 20 odd hours of playing it, i can honestly say it was worth it. So go out and buy your copy of NHL 17. So me and the wife just watched Mortified Nation and if you haven’t heard of this fantastic fun flick that takes a look at the pasts of a group of people who were open to reading their journals and secrets up on a stage. The result of this made for a hilarious look at people’s lives. This documentary has the perfect balance with on stage performances and backstage interviews. You go on this journey with the creator Dave Nadelberg who really started all of this when he found this love letter he had written in high school.
I am a little late to this party since this film has been out for three years now, but the fantastic thing about Netflix is that there is always something you haven’t heard of which is the whole reason I have started this blog. I don’t want to spoil any of the stories here on my blog so I will just tell you some of the themes you can expect from the film which were First Loves, Rejection and other awkward moments for teenagers. To be completely honest, most of teenager’s lives are awkward. I guarantee that anyone who watches this amazing film will at least connect your life to any one of these stories if not all of them. I can say it pulled at my emotions in all directions I was almost in tears of laughter by the end of the film. The overall message of this movie was that no matter what you are going through in life, especially our teenage years that it gets better the more time goes on. Here’s a quote from the film that kind of really hits home at least will me “We are freaks, we are fragile, and we all survived”. I strongly suggest going on Netflix and watching this as soon as possible, and if you have a diary or journal dust it off and read it and if you are really brave read it out to loud to your closest friends, you will be laughing at yourself all night. To make it simple I am adding the link to the trailer below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3DmdV9XByY That’s all for me, Start Streaming. So here we go, on a journey to where ever you would like to go. Just sit on the comfy couch grab your favourite drink and snacks, sit back and relax. That's the pleasure of watching films, they take you on an adventure of sorts. So I will be diving into the world of cinema and talking about the good, the bad and the ugly.
So my blog will mostly reflect on films that are on one of the most popular streaming sites Netflix. The reason I am starting this blog is because I love going on "Cinematic Adventures", so everyday i go on to my Netflix page and I scroll through the movies and for some reason can't find anything to watch, that or there is too much to choose from. If your like me you just keep adding to the favourites list, and then end up watching a show you watched a million times. For my lovely wife and I that show is Family Guy. The very first movie we went and saw together on our very first date was Resident Evil: Afterlife. Looking back all the way to 2010. Since then we watched many different films, but that's where our relationship all started. A few of our favourite movies are Dark Knight, Anchorman, James Bond, Harry Potter and much more. I want to extend the invitation to all of you reading to make recommendations of what I should watch and write about. I appreciate all the feed back I can get. That's it for now Start Streaming. |
