So something I've always wanted to talk about are board games and today I thought i would share my thoughts on a certain game that is one of my favourites and one that my friends and I constantly pull out, which is Pandemic. Pandemic is a game which you take a character and try and save the world from four diseases, which are unnamed so that you can put your own creativity, if you are like me, and name them yourself. You could go Realistic like Zika virus or Science Fiction like the Zombie Plague. The character you take on this world curing adventure will always change from game to game because you pick at random. You have unique abilities with each character you choose . An example of this is the medic who can cure a disease with one fowl swoop. The game is a mix of strategy and luck. Wishing for no epidemic cards which has you fill a city with three diseases and if by chance that city gets hit again it would in turn outbreak to surrounding cities which is only one of the ways you can lose at this game. Many times my friends and I have lost to this game in this very way or we would run out of a certain disease which is another way of losing. One of the most intense games we have had was when we had only one more outbreak left and we were on the last cure and by the end of my turn if we had any cities out break that would mean Game Over. Luckily we had the cure on the next turn so my one buddy played an event card which let us skip infection and we ended up winning on the next turn. So we had to look at the next four cards just to see if we would have lost if he hadn't played that card and low and behold Bangkok was the next city about to get hit. It would have had an out break and we would have lost. I have purchased this game a couple of years ago and my friends and I still play it. we can't get enough of it. It is a game we like to play after a crazy battle of Munchkin or Catan. Since it is a Co-Op game we end up getting of each others nerves. There are three expansion games as well which i have yet to purchase but since we all love the game i might just have to do just that. If you have a play group that likes team work based games i suggest picking this one up. Don't forget if you like this Blog I am always looking for feed back and remember to hit that like button and if you have any friends who would be interested in my blog please share.

So i recently Threw down 90 dollars Canadian, to buy NHL 17. I have been playing it Non-Stop and boy is my wife mad. A couple of my friends and I have started a team in the new EASHL and for those of you who do not know what that is, it is a Online Mode and you take control of one man on the ice and other players also have one player. You build your team up from a little crappy arena that you would find in a little town. Then you start building your team up by unlocking Logos, Jerseys and even Arenas.
So it was us against the world and boy did we suck. we went on a 10 game losing streak, with our excuse that we never played together and that we would get use to it eventually. So our record was 2-12-1, We were like the leafs of this new mode, we couldn't figure out why we were not scoring. Then this past weekend we finally started playing like a team we put some incredible games under our belts with blow out games 7-2 and 8-1. We were on our way to the next division and then the next. Finally after a long fought weekend we are finally on top of our game and ready for the playoffs. Our record stands at 14-13-3 we haven't lost in awhile. If you are a big hockey guy and you have friends who also enjoy hockey i cannot recommend EA's NHL 17 this year, this game has so many improvements like the new Franchise Mode were you are the owner of a NHL team and you build them up, change ticket prices, trade players, improve your building or relocate your team to one of the many other cities looking for a NHL hockey team. This is the best hockey game we have seen since 2005. Dropping 90 bucks for this game had me squirming but after 20 odd hours of playing it, i can honestly say it was worth it. So go out and buy your copy of NHL 17. |
